Keyboard Shortcuts

This page lists RustEdit's keyboard and mouse shortcuts. Many of them only work while the mouse is over the 3D part of the scene view, not over a panel or a widget. The tables say where each one works.

note

Shortcuts do nothing while you type in a text field. Click outside the field first.

Except for the selection group keys, the shortcuts in the Anywhere and Scene view tables run only when you hold exactly the keys shown. For example, Ctrl+Z only undoes: it does not also switch the gizmo like Z. Ctrl+Alt+L only unlocks: it does not also lock like Ctrl+L.

Most of these keys do nothing while you hold the right mouse button, because that button flies the camera. Selection groups use the number keys above the letters, not the number pad.

Selection groups are not saved with the map. Set them again after you open a map or restart RustEdit.
