Card Reader
The Card Reader panel sets up a keycard reader, the kind that opens monument doors in Rust. It shows when you select one or more card readers.
Access Level is the keycard the reader takes: Green, Blue or Red. A reader needs power to work. After a good swipe, it passes its power on through its output, for example to a door controller. Wire it in the IO Entity panel, see IO wiring.
Access Duration is saved with the reader in the map. In the current game, a reader stays open after a good swipe until the monument's puzzle resets.
Can edit several selected objects at once.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Access Duration# | Number | Seconds the reader is meant to stay open after a good swipe. The current game keeps it open until the monument's puzzle resets |
| Access Level# | Dropdown | The keycard the reader takes: Green, Blue or Red |
In Play mode
In Play mode, look at a powered reader and press E (Scan Keycard). Any reader takes the swipe, whatever its Access Level, because you act as if you held every keycard. The reader stays open until you stop playing.
