Path Connection
A Path Connection is a monument attribute: Rust's own path connection, in your monument. It marks where a path that Rust's map generator makes joins the monument. The panel shows when you select a connection in an open monument.
The Content Browser's Procedural folder has one row for each common type: Road Connection, Rail Connection, Power Connection, Trail Connection and Boat Connection. They are all this attribute, with Type set. When you change Type, the entity's name follows it, unless you renamed it.
- Road, Rail, Power and Trail: in Rust's monuments, Rust's road, rail, power line and trail steps lead their paths to these points.
- Boat: the monument only spawns where deep water leads from this point to the edge of the map.
- A monument in the
monument/roadsidespawn folder lies along a road. Its first two road connections set which way it faces the road. - Tunnel and Underwater Lab do nothing in your monument. Rust reads them only in its own train tunnel entrances and underwater lab entrances.
In the Procedural Generation panel, generated roads, rails and power lines go to the connections of Rust's monuments on the map, also the ones you placed by hand. They do not go to the connections of your own monuments: draw those paths yourself.
In the scene view, a connection is a small diamond in a flat ring. Near the camera, its type shows under it.
In the Type list, and in the table below, Power has the description "Raises A to the power of B". That description belongs to another setting. Power means a power line joins the monument here.
