Spline Path
The Spline Path panel makes the splines of a spline entity into Rust's paths: roads, rivers, rails and power lines, and the routes of the APC and the cargo ship. It shows in spline edit mode, when the entity's Spline Component is Spline Path.
Paths has one row for each spline of the entity, named Spline 0, Spline 1 and so on in the order of the Splines list. Open a row and pick the spline's Type. The rows of that type show under it: width, terrain modifier and topology settings for roads, rivers and rails, interest nodes, speed zones and spawning for APC paths, and the route tools for the cargo path and cargo stops.
Each spline of the entity can have its own type, so one entity can hold a road network or a set of APC routes. A map has one Cargo Path, and Cargo Stop is offered only in the entity that has it.
Can edit several selected objects at once. This panel is only shown in some cases.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Paths# | List of Path settings | One row for each spline of this entity: its type and the settings of that type |
The types and their rows
| Type | Rows | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Road, River, Rail | View Nodes, Settings (snap, width, random scale, mesh offset) and Terrain Modifiers (padding, fade, offset, splat and topology). Rails add Is Siding, roads add Make APC Path. | Path types |
| Powerline | No settings. | Path types |
| APC | Interest Nodes, Speed Zones, Drivable and Spawning. | APC paths |
| Cargo Path | Cargo Ship Route and Fit To Coast. | Cargo paths |
| Cargo Stop | The dock knot and the throttle of the knots. | Cargo paths |
Changing the Type, the settings of roads, rivers and rails, or the APC Spawning rows is not an undo step. The buttons for interest nodes, speed zones, the cargo path and cargo stops are.
